Diamonds and Dust

The first official theatre production to be endorsed by the Proudly South African association.

It starts off in the swinging 40s and 50s with the music of the pennywhistle and progresses onto the period of Kwela Jazz before paying tribute to Miriam Makeba with The Click Song and Pata Pata. Other showstoppers include a Tshotsholoza/Nkosi Sikele/Weeping medley presented in a beautiful accapella arrangement, and a powerful rendition of The Warrior and Mama Tembu's Wedding from the famous local musical Ipi Tombi.

The second half moves into more recent years where numbers like Paradise Road, African Dream, Impi, Shadow, Diamonds On The Souls Of My Shoes, Jabulani and Africa are sure to raise the roof.

My sister saw the show while on holiday in South Africa and I wondered if it will come to Australia? Reminds me of Ipi Intombi which was a huge hit downunder!!

BRILLIANT

Author: JO, 8 April 2010

HI I HAVE BEEN TO WATCH THIS SHOW LAST NIGHT (7TH APRIL 2010) AT THE BARNYARD THEATRE AT GATEWAY DURBAN AND AT FIRST I WAS A BIT SCEPTICAL COS I DONT LIKE LIVE SHOWS. THIS SHOW CHANGED MY MIND COMPLETELY. IT WAS BRILLIANT. WE ALL HAVE A HIDDEN TALENT. WE JUST NEED A CHANCE. THE GIRLS WERE BEAUTIFULL AND THE GUYS WERE EXCELLENT. IT IS SAD THAT THE ONE GUY HAS TO LEAVE FOR TURKEY. THEY COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER. MY 8 YEAR OLD ENJOYED THE SHOW TO THE FULLEST. I WAS AMAZED THAT SHE STAYED AWAKE SO LONG.

Can I buy the CD?

Author: Dawn , 17 September 2010

I saw this show at Sun City in August and it was fantastic. I didn't get the chance to buy the CD that was being sold at the event and now I am desperately trying to get hold of a copy!! I live in the UK. Any ideas? Thanks :)
